The landlord says I could have changed the photo dates.
That is the objection this answers. A file property can be edited by whoever holds the file; a Base transaction cannot be edited by you, by us, or by the landlord. The record shows those exact image files existed by that date.
Does it prove when the photos were taken?
No. It dates the submission of the file, never the moment the shutter fired. Capture time comes from the camera and its metadata, neither of which we see.
When should I do it?
On move-in day, with the whole set, before anything is edited or resized. Sixteen months later the only date on those photos is the one your own computer wrote.
Do I need an account?
Not to check a file or use the one-file guest offer when it is available. The verify page is public — no sign-in, nothing to install — and the public notarize page can send one browser-computed digest to checkout without an account. An account opens the signed-in console once you have verified your email address.
